Ray was beautiful and moving. He's a true musician; he doesn't rely on talking or audience interaction to get people to recognize the truth he sings. Some people misinterpret that as being a bad performer, but they, I feel like, obviously don't know what they're getting into when they're coming to see Ray.
This was my first concert; I am not a "concert-goer" by any stretch of the imagination, but told myself if I were ever to go to one, it would be for him. I did, and I loved it. The Strathmore is a beautiful venue, and obviously not your typical rock-out club or venue; it's designed for quiet listening. And that's precisely what people need to do with Ray - listen.
The only reason I give this 4 stars is because I think Black Uhuru should have left the orchestra behind. It's wonderful and all, but in his latest interviews, even he acknowledges that maybe they shouldn't have incorporated it again (after the Hollywood performances). And I think it showed in his own performance, that he emotionally wanted to move on from these last albums, but is kinda going with it for the rest of this tour. Happy listening, all.
